Our caregivers can also provide transportation to and from the hospital, doctor's office. It can also be at a treatment center, as well as support services.
Plus, we'll help your loved one prepare for visits and run errands along the way.
SERVICES AND BENEFITS OF OUR TRANSPORTATION AND ACCOMPANIMENT PROGRAM INCLUDE:
When it comes to transportation costs, ensure that appropriate vehicle insurance is in place. There are a few important notes to consider.
Caregivers can accompany clients on outings and appointments in 3 different ways:
- Accompany the client in a taxi or other third-party transport company
When a caregiver accompanies a client in a taxi, the client will be charged the normal cost for the caregiver's time. The customer also pays for the cost of the taxi.If arranged in advance, the Alliance Santé caregiver can pay for the taxi, and the cost can be added to the client's regular bill. There is no surcharge on the cost of the taxi.

Many of our caregivers have a vehicle they use to get to work.
Even if a caregiver has a vehicle, it does not mean they have the appropriate insurance to drive a client as a passenger.If a client wishes to have an Alliance Santé caregiver drive them to appointments in the caregiver's vehicle, Alliance Santé will ensure that the appropriate insurance is in place before booking travel for an outing.
When caregivers use their own vehicle to drive a customer, the customer will be charged the normal hourly rate for the caregiver, plus a modest per kilometer charge to cover gas and wear and tear on the vehicle.
Alliance Santé has special documentation that must be signed before taking this service.
- Drive the customer in the customer’s vehicle
Many seniors own their own vehicle. On the other hand, they are no longer able or willing to drive themselves.If the client chooses, the caregiver can drive their vehicle for outings and appointments.
In such situations, Alliance Santé will request a copy of the customer’s vehicle insurance which will cover the additional drivers.
Alliance Santé will obtain a copy of the caregiver's valid pilot's license.
The client will have to pay the normal hourly rate for the caregiver, and there is no additional charge for transportation.
Alliance Santé has special documentation that must be signed before taking this service.
